FINALLY!!!! A party which pays homage to an amazingly beautiful and experimental genre of music which has managed to keeps it’s integrity well preserved in a decadent society that seems to make a mockery of everything it gets it’s hands on. Trip Hop! Yes, that’s with a “T”. Or most recently referred to as “Down Tempo”, “Chillout” or “Lounge” although I like to pay homage to the 90’s be referring to the genre as the primary. Tripnotic Lounge is a weekly party in Los Angeles that celebrates emotionally driven electronic “trip hop” icons of yore such as Portishead, Massive Attack, Lamb and even mixed in a little acid jazz citing the amazing works of Jamiroquai.
